We strive to be an inclusive community of all people, inspired by Jesus’ welcome and embrace of the outcasts of his day. Our community is made up of young, old, singles, couples, kids, gay, straight, rich, poor, well and struggling.
For over 30 years Paddington has lived a ministry of acceptance and inclusion of people who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex (LGBTI). We are mindful of the pain many have experienced at the hands of the church. We believe that God made and loves all people, regardless of sexual orientation, and that nobody should be excluded from any part of the church, including ordination, on the basis of race, gender, age or sexual orientation. In church jargon, we are an ‘open and affirming’ congregation and partner with others in the church and society calling for the full inclusion and end to discrimination against LGBTI people, in church and society (you can read more about this work here).
