SANCTUARY – The Labyrinth of Hope
Sanctuary will take place THIS SATURDAY, 3 February within the church from 10.30am – 2.30pm.
We will use our labyrinth to focus on the theme of HOPE (or you can follow your own theme using the labyrinth).
HOPE – a small word with a big meaning!
Various research agencies report surprisingly low levels of hope amongst population groups across the world, and particularly amongst younger people. Some reports indicate that only 42% of teenagers and young adults express a positive sense of hope for their futures. Conceptual and empirical investigations of hope are on the increase with hope and optimism conferences being offered more regularly. Alexandra Chang of Cornell University says that ‘Hope permeates our lives. It’s such a ubiquitous attitude that you’ve likely employed it more than once today.’
Sacred and other texts as well as music and art offer wisdom and insight about hope.
SANCTUARY will offer a meditation on the theme of HOPE.
