Privacy and Security

1. Email

The Paddington Uniting Church does NOT sell or rent mailing lists and will not pass on to any third party any personal information that you provide to us unless we have your express consent to do so. If you wish to be removed from our mailing list, please send us email to and you will be promptly removed.

2. Visiting Our Website

Each time you visit this website, the following information will be automatically recorded about your visit:

  • server address / domain name
  • the time and date
  • the pages viewed and information downloaded
  • the site that referred you to us; eg. Search Engine
  • information about your computer; eg. Operating system, type of browser, screen resolution.

We use this information for statistical purposes and it helps us to ensure that our website meets the demands of our visitors.

Our website includes links to other websites, however we do not make any warranties with respect to the privacy of your personal information whilst you are using those websites. Please refer to the privacy policy of those websites individually.

Our Privacy Policy is in accordance with the the Commonwealth of Australia Privacy Act 1988.

We take have taken measures to ensure that your details are secure. Our donation form uses Secure Sockets Layer technology (SSL) to ensure your details are safe and secure at all times. SSL locks all information entered into our website in an encrypted envelope. This makes it very difficult for your information to be intercepted by an unauthorised party, as long as your browser supports the use of encrypted data transmissions. You can see which pages are secure by the security icon that will appear on your browser. For Microsoft Internet Explorer, you can see a lock and for Netscape, a key. Secure web pages can also be identified by their URL: they begin with ‘https://’, while standard pages begin with ‘http://’. You may also see a security notice when you enter or leave a secure page.
